Executive Director

Heather G.
Hi! I’m Heather, the Executive Director of our Escondido location! I was born and raised in a small town outside of Memphis, Tennessee and I have lived in Southern California for 8 years now. I love the west coast, the food, the beaches and the people are all a part of the reason I love being here. I have a passion for helping the community and have found my calling in the career of helping animals and pet parents. I strive to give superior customer service and enjoy educating clients on pet care. I have 2 fur-babies of my own, Oliver and Simon, both of which were rescued and hold a very special place in my heart. Here at Mohnacky, we are more than just a team, we are a family and we hope to make you feel a part of our family too!

I’ve always had a strong bond with animals. Once I realized I wanted to help animals I started volunteering at animal shelters. I decided that I wanted to take my passion for animals and turn it into a career. I have an Veterinary Technician Associate’s Degree and a wildlife handling certification. After 10 years in the field as a veterinary technician I have decided to further my career path by taking on a role in leadership. I can’t wait to build a relationship with you and your fur babies. When I am not at work you can find me spending time with my husband, my daughter, and my two cats.

With a lifelong passion for animals and a strong desire to work in the medical field, I found my calling as a Registered Veterinary Technician. In my role at MAHE, I am dedicated to providing compassionate care and support for our furry friends, ensuring they receive the highest quality of veterinary services.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my two dogs, Quill and Gamora, as well as my cat, Drax. I also have a fascination for reptiles and arachnids, which is why my household includes several geckos and a tarantula! This diverse array of pets fuels my enthusiasm for animal care and enriches my life.
Combining my love for animals with my commitment to their health has been a rewarding journey, and I am excited to continue making a positive impact in the lives of pets and their families.

I was born and raised in the Napa Valley. I moved to San Diego 10 years ago. I have been in the veterinary field for 8 years now. I love being able to help animals and care for them as if they were my own. I have 3 fur babies of my own, a cat named Bebe and 2 dogs named Petrie and Cujo.

Gabriel
I have always had an attachment for animals. I’d consider myself a dog person, but the feline friends are just as adorable. There’s always been a dog in the household. I was born in Santa Clara, California and raised in San Diego. Working for MAHE is not only fruitful but also an absolute honor. Outside of work you will catch me either at the beach or on a Brazilian Jiu-jistu mat.

I have always had a passion working with animals so I joined the veterinary field in 2015. Joining the MAHE team has been a very rewarding experience for me. I have had the opportunity to learn new things and truly enjoy going to work everyday. I love getting to cuddle with all the fur babies that come my way throughout my day. I am so glad to be a part of such a great team.

Samantha
I have always been curious about the Vet field since I was younger but never thought I could get my foot in the door. It has always been in the back of my mind to keep trying and now I get to work here at MAHE. I am originally from Minnesota and come from restaurant management. I needed a change of pace and got very lucky here at Mohnacky working as a client service representative. I love working with and seeing all the animals on a daily basis. I have a red Doberman at home and grew up with lots of animals who I loved dearly. I can’t wait to continue my journey with the animals in the vet field!

My parents are both RN’s which ignited my passion to join the medical field myself. That is why I pursued my masters degree in biomedical engineering from UCSD. With COVID-19 rampant, that field is currently focused on rapid testing, which is not the ideal route for me. I decided to pivot and start working with animals. With my medical background and my passion for furbabies, MAHE is the purrrfect fit for me.

Stephanie
Hi! My name is Stephanie and I am an exam room assistant here at the Escondido location. I was born and raised in Southern California and I recently graduated from UCSD with a bachelor’s degree in human biology. After graduating, I was looking for a perfect fit for my first job out of college. I have always had a love for animals and I have my own fur baby at home. Her name is Kiwi, a spunky kitty who I rescued in 2015. I can easily say I found my perfect fit here at Mohnacky, where my new found love for animal care thrives. Mohnacky is truly a welcoming, loving place and I hope you find your perfect fit here too!

Megan
Hi, I’m Megan and I’ve spent my whole life surrounded by animals. Growing up my mom and I would take in every stray and that eventually led me to volunteering with a local rescue foster; and then eventually a volunteer at a big cat rescue in my hometown. I’ve owned everything from livestock to arachnids; My passion is to make every pet feel as safe and secure as possible. I’ve lived in North County for 6 years and absolutely love it here. Being at MAHE, and back in the field after a 13-year break has reminded me where I want to go in life and my plan is to go back to school and make animal care my full time career. When not at work you can find me napping with my goofy dog, Honey, or playing video games with my three boys.
